Markham, Ill. (WLS) – A murder examination is underway after two people were killed in the southern suburbs at the beginning of this week.

The victims, a 23-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, died on Sunday near 167th and Spaulding in Markham, said Illinois State Police.

The victims were identified as an 23-year-old Jamari Stigler from Riverdale, Illinois, and as a 27-year-old Diamond Taylor Harvey from Crown Point, Indiana.

It was not yet known whether arrests in connections to the murders were made.

There was no further information about the deaths available.

According to the ISP, the Task Force of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force supports the Markham Police Department in the investigation.
