MBTA says the schedule for South Coast Rail after River, New Bedford

The passengers don't have to wait much to drive the commuter rail from and from Fall River or New Bedford. The MBTA announced the train plans for the two future cities.

According to the transit agency, the service on Monday, March 24, will mark the first time in 65 years that the communities of Taunton, Freetown, New Bedford and Fall River will gradually drive passenger trains.

On the River case line, 15 trips on the New Bedford Commuter Rail Line will give a total of 32 trips between the southern train station in downtown Boston and the newly built East Taunon train station on weekdays. The trains run every 70 minutes Monday to Friday.

On weekends, 26 trips are made between the two stations – with trains every two hours, said the MBTA.

The train station in East Taunton will act as a free transfer point between direct trains or driving to Boston and connect trains with the new term from Fall River and New Bedford.

“This enables an even more frequent service,” said the MBTA, adding that this type of planning “in accordance with the all -day service model matches the rest of the commuter network”.

In addition, the Late Night Outbound Service will be available from Boston on weekdays and weekends for train stations in south coasts. The last train leaves from the south station from the south station shortly before midnight, added the MBTA.

The Middleborough/Lakeville Commuter Rail Line will be referred to as the “River/New Bedford Commuter Line case” from this month with the new service.

The current Middorborough/Lakeville train station on the 125 Commercial Drive in Lakeville is also only shortened the name to the Lakeville train station, and the commuters will no longer stop here, said the MBTA.

From now on, the Lakeville train station will only see features of the seasonal Capeflyer weekend -passenger god between South Station and Hyannis.

A new “Middleborough” station in the 52 West Grove St. in Middleborough is officially opened for regular commuter trains.

All New South Coast Bail Stations are located in the MBTA zone 8, which means that the drivers pay a tariff of $ 12.25 for a one-way street and $ 6 for those who qualify for reduced tariffs. A single return flight ticket costs 24.50 USD for the average driver.

To celebrate the start of the South Coast Rail Service, the MBTA offers free weekend trips from March 24th from March 24 to the end of the day on April 30th to the new stations.

On this Saturday and Sunday – in addition to Patriots' day on Monday, April 21st – passengers can drive free of charge if they end or end their trip to one of the six New South Coast Bail Stations, said the MBTA.

The transit agency added that the drivers should share the origin and goal of their journey with conductors in order to obtain the free tariffs. Free tariff policy will not be available for the South Coast Railway on weekdays.

The MBTA found that the free parking drive can end earlier than expected if the parking spaces for passengers are not available and should not be available.

According to MBTA, the standard price for the parking lot of the South Coast Bahnhof is $ 4 per day and $ 2 a day on weekends and public holidays.

“With the service on March 24, thousands of cars will get out of the streets, and thousands of people will experience the comfort and advantage of public transport first-hand,” said Massachusett's transport minister, Monica Tibbits-Nutt.
