Some fire brigade staff in North Central Florida, who drive to South Carolina Waldbrände

Gainesville, Florida (WCJB) – On Thursday morning, five fire brigade staff from North Central Clorida drive to South Carolina to relieve some of the firefighters who are fighting against the forest fires.

“It is still very exhausting to be hard work if you exceed these multi -day incidents,” said the deputy head of the region 2 of the Florida Forest Service, Patrick of its.

27 Forest Service employees form a complex incident management team that includes firefighters, security officers and logistics officers. Five of them come from North Central Florida, which includes the Gilchrist, Marion, Putnam and Alachua counties.

“If you go into these larger incidents with a long time, it grinds. If you have people who work extremely long hours in normally unpleasant terrain or in situations, you can know that it can be very tiring, ”said their.

This comes from Alachua County and will be the deputy commander for the incident for Florida Team One. You will go to Covington Fire in the Myrtle Beach area.

He says it is crucial to bring boots to the floor and relieve some of the firefighters who have worked continuously to extinguish the fire.

“It increases the amount of equipment and personnel that requires to take measures on the same morning,” said they.

There is no more difficult to control the fire there since the hurricane season, but it is not the only factor to do with the crews.

“But what will really influence us this year and probably for the next seven years is the hurricane damage,” said their.

The crews only drag their own devices when they see what is necessary, if at all.

“It is a moving goal, but at the moment we will only include your things in ourselves and manage it so that your lead can take a break and concentrate on some other things,” said it.

As soon as you arrive there, you work between 12 and 18 hours a day.

“It feels good. I mean, that's why I went to the public service to have this feeling of help and to support people when they are in need, ”said Deen.

These 27 members have a two -week task. However, if the fire is included, it can end early or you will be laid to another incident.
