Cal Football: Bear Insider Video: Cal Ol Lajuan Owens

In the off -season, the Bears added four offensive lines in portal to get to Cal together with the new offensive line -line trainer Famika Anae, but last season in New Mexico -Redshirt Frosh Ol Lajuan Owens‍.

The 6-4/335 Owens started 10 games as a redshirt Frosh OT for New Mexico and received 11, VS SDSU, Mountain West newcomer of the week after changing a year in Tulane for a year.

Owens was part of a thorough transformation of the criminal offense in New Mexico under Anae's instructions in the management when they replaced almost every offensive Lineman of the team and still built the sacks, which were allowed to list with only five and number four rushing offensive in the country.

“It was great,” said Owens. “Coach Anae sermons a lot of physicality, especially mentally and physically. So you know that our O-line had last year. I have the feeling that it helped us to raise a lot. That's why I decided to stay anae at coach because I really love his coaching style.”

Last year in New Mexico, Owens gave up as a player throughout the season through an anti -sound print. However, the new bear has downplayed the performance.

“I mean it's good, but I only want to get better every year,” said Owens.

With regard to his strengths as a player, his physicality and ability to prevent the Pass -Rushers in their mark are at the top of the list of new bears.

“I would definitely say that my ability to sit on the passport,” said Owens. “If you try to bend Bull Rush, I usually hold them immediately and there, so I think this is one of my biggest plus points.”

Although he played outside last season, he can find his framework and blocking style on the inside this season, although he will probably get several looks.

“I played tackle last year, but I played both,” remarked Owens. “I'll go in and out, so inside and maybe the tackle.”

What is the new bear looking forward to the new bear with spring ball around the corner next week?

“I'm really just looking forward to playing with the boys in my room to see how well we work, how well our chemistry is together,” said Owens. “We did a few things outside of football and tried to build the chemistry. I am really looking forward to keeping the chemistry with the boys in our room.”
