Gampel-Pavillon-Leck leads to a delay in the Uconn Marquette game

Storrs -A leak in the Gampel pavilion roof and water on the square caused a delay in the game of the Uconn -Männer -Basketball team against Marquette on Wednesday evening.

The game, which was supposed to start at 8:30 p.m., was delayed by about half an hour. An e -mail from Uconn at 8:45 p.m. was: “Today's game against Marquette is slightly delayed due to furnishing questions. Tip will be around 9 p.m.

It was unclear that the problem was solved.

The situation was noticed and analyzed in the last hour before the planned note. Finally, about a dozen people gathered in the area, including Game Officer, Uconn sports director David Benedict, Marquette Athletic Director Mike Broeker, deputy sports director of Uconn, Jason Bultikofer and Evan Feingass, associated director of athletics/facilities.

About 20 minutes before the tip, the group coach Tom Moore, who distributed minutes later. The teams came to the square to warm up again and 10 minutes were added to the clock before the game.

The game on Wednesday was a sale with more than 10,000 fans. There were heavy rain in Storrs and throughout the state.

Gampel Pavilion was opened in January 1990.
