The Mesa police confirmed that the teenager lived in a group house when she was reported missing. Pike was last seen in January near Mesa Drive and McKellips Road. Almost a week after it was identified, the Gila County's office announced that they have ABC15 leads and the FBI is also involved in the case.

Murder examination

“The Sheriff's office of Gila County received a call from some people who were actually in the area and discovered the garbage bags during their course to go along the path that they believe that in the way of studying there may have been a body in one of the pockets,” said Lt. James Lahti.

The sheriff's office said that the discovery triggered its investigation. Pike was found on February 14, but it was only identified on February 27th.

ABC15 asked GCSO whether there has been any representative of interests so far.

“At this point we have no positive suspects,” said Lt. Lahti.

However, the sheriff's office would confirm that in this case you have some clues, and several agencies are involved.

“Our detectives have got in touch with members of the MESA police authority since it was last,” said Lt. Lahti. “You also came into contact with the FBI and Bia and other agencies here in the state.”

He said her agency also had contact with the police department of San Carlos Apache. Pike's family is part of the tribe.

“There is daily communication and actual footwork to develop and find out Leads who may have seen them,” said Lt. Lahti.

Pikes group house

“The very first one we did was obviously binding tapes,” said Anika Robinson, lawyer at Foster Care.

Robinson told ABC15 that her non -profit organization ASA has now contributed to serving PIKE since 2023.

“I think that for the majority of the children who are in a community supply and are not in a family environment can be really difficult for them,” said Robinson.

The Mesa police said there have been 30 suspicious reports from the group home in the past three years, in which Pike was, some were habitual. ABC15 was also announced that Pike had four missing reports, including those in January.

The other three were reported in 2023, and in a situation Pike was with another child.

The Ministry of Child Safety announced ABC15 on Wednesday that Pike was not in her care. Our team turns to the San Carlos Apache trunk to obtain further information.

“We really have to close these loops, not just Emily's sake,” said Robinson.

Robinson worked in honor of two other girls who were missing in a group house in 2023 to say goodbye to laws to close gaps that she sees when children are reported missing.

In 2024 she helped to pass HB2479, which contains reporting requirements and guidelines. Now she hopes to expand this to Pikes.

“Some of this legislation said that, for example, the well -being of children who was the department for child safety had to be able to immediately notify families that their child was missing,” said Robinson.

Robinson told ABC15 that she sees challenges when it comes to taking photos of missing children and wants to ensure that state authorities are following the new law.

“I am part of the task force for missing children,” said Robinson. “It is something that we are very aware of because we help save children, we help to locate and search for them, and obviously prevention is always in the foreground of our mind.”

The Task Force, along with ASA no.

“Your trunk will be there,” said Robinson. “You have a nice program that is included. And this is a time that does not march. This is only a time to listen to listen to listen to your voice, and it is very peaceful. It will be a nice vigil. And for everyone who wants to come and want to support your family, we would love you there.”

The paternal family of Pike also asks for donations to support family members.

While the relatives mourn, Gila County asks everyone with information to report.

“It is the things people think, well, that's not really a big deal, and it is a slope that does the case for us,” said Lt. Lahti.
