What Alabama player think of Ryan Grubb after 2 spring football exercises

The newly shaped offensive coordinator of Alabama, Ryan Grubb, had a word in mind when he was asked in 2025 after playing with philosophy with Alabama football.

“Aggressive,” Grubb told reporters on Wednesday. “We will be aggressive.”

Grubb takes over Alabama's offensive coordinator after a season with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL. He originally intended to be in Tuscaloosa for the 2024 season after taking over Kalen Deboer from Washington after Seahawks's job.

Alabama's players met him briefly in the last low season, but after two days in spring practice he deserves enthusiastic reviews.

“We all love him,” said Crimson Tide Jam Miller. “Last year he came in and naturally went, but now we know him as if he's been here for a minute, so we're just working better.”

Several Alabama players previously played for Grubb. Germie Bernard followed Deboer and Grubb from Washington, where he was a member of the 2023 Huskie team, who went to the National Championship Games before moving to Alabama.

Bernard was optimistic how the future in Tuscaloosa with Grubb could look in place.

“To be only in the offense that, as we all saw in 2023, he is very explosive,” said Bernard. “Just to have this system back, and especially with the boys we have, I know that we can restore some good things.”

Grubb trained Bernard for a season in Washington after entering the state of Michigan. The Wideout described the style of his trainer in dealing with players.

“He only wants the best of everyone, so he only trains everyone hard,” said Grubb. “And then, above all, he is only aggressive with the way he calls games, he is not afraid of taking any risks, making any pictures.”

Alabama will continue the spring training on Friday. Spring Ball will run until April 12th when the Crimson Tide will play the A-Day game in the Bryant-Denny Stadium.

A day will not be broadcast on television this season, but admission will be free.
