With profound sadness, we share the tragic loss of one of our own.

The Danville fire brigade suffered an immeasurable loss last night when the premature death of firefighter Kaleb Barker was. Kaleb was deeply loved – not only by his co -fire brigade, but from everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His loss has created a gap in our ranks, which will be impossible to fill.

During his far too short term, Kaleb served this department with commitment, courage and an unshakable commitment to the job. He was more than just a fireman – he was a fireman of a fireman. In a short time he had a permanent effect and embodied the best of what it means to serve.

But more than a colleague, more than a friend, Kaleb was our brother. His present, his laugh and his commitment to the job are very missing, but never forget.

Please keep Kalbs family, his wife Natalie, his son Noah and his parents Kevin and Tonya in their thoughts and asked in this incredibly difficult time.

They rest slightly, brother. We will take it from here.
