Toledo Mud Hens opening day Guide for 2025: Everything you need to know

The opening day of Mud Hens, also known as the largest party of the year in Toledo, is defined against the Columbus Clippers for Friday, March 28th.

The Toledo Mud Hens are laid out on Friday, March 28th, at 4:05 p.m. against the Columbus Clippers on the first day in the fifth third field.

This is the third season in a row in which the opening day, which is known as the largest party in Toledo, will take place on a Friday in the fifth third field in the city center.

You need to know about advertising events, tickets, parking spaces, a new manager and much more about the opening day and the rest of the 2025 Mud Hens season.

Tickets

There are five Opening ticket packages Available for fans.

  • Ticket + beer: 1 ticket, 2 beers and a koozie ($ 40)
  • Ticket + ceiling: 1 ticket, a limited mud blanket (($ 30)
  • Ticket + Hut: 1 ticket, a muddy hat (($ 32)
  • Ticket + cup: 1 ticket, a mudica cup (($ 30)
  • Ticket + popcorn + pop: 1 ticket, a box popcorn and a can of pop. (($ 40)

The mud chickens offer a handful of ticket options for this season, including partly, half, complete and individual plans.

  • Sub -plans: 10 or 18 games
  • Half plans: 36 games
  • Complete plans: 75 games
  • Custom plans: You choose 10 or more games

Each plan offers certain advantages such as an invitation to an opening party, team autograph events and special gifts.

The team also offers five game plans for this season.

  • Fireworks plan: This package contains tickets for five aftermath fireworks evenings ($ 70)
  • Inflatable theme park plan: Ticket package for Sunday Family Days to enjoy the inflatable themed park in Hensville Park and in other family activities ($ 55)
  • Baseball fan plan: See the top prospects for the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians and Chicago Cubs, while the chickens compete against divisional rival ($ 70)
  • Plan advertising gifts: This package contains five exclusive giveaways. (($ 70 – giveaways are not guaranteed)

Fifth third field of cashless event location

Only debit and credit cards are accepted as payment in the baseball stadium.

Mobile payment methods such as ApplePay and Google Pay are accepted in concessions and in the Swamp shop.

Park

The Mud Hens say that there are 950 meters parking spaces for those who take part in one game in the city center of Toledo.

In addition, there are thousands of rooms in garages and surface plots, many within three blocks of the fifth field. Although the fifth third field is a place for cash, some parking spaces near the ball park are just money.

In the sludge ports it is said that when you have just stopped by in the ticket office or in the swamp business, the best place to the parking lot in the St. Clair or Superior Street is.


Advertising events

In January, the Mud Hens released their 2025 advertising plan, in which fan favorites returned, as well as some new themed evenings that the fans could enjoy.

There will be a dozen fireworks shows after the game and eight chicken and hounds nights, fan favorites take place in the fifth third field.

Some themed evenings are military appreciation night, boots and baseball weekend, Harry Potter Weekend, 90s weekend, Margaritaville Weekend, Tigers Night and Dino Day.

The Mud Hens also have a weekend with the Toledo Jeep, where the Country music singer Graham Barham on Saturday, August 2nd at 9:30 p.m.

This season, the chickens will also be for six games of the Toledo Mud Crawlers, even during the Jeep festival weekend. The team says this alternative identity pays homage to the love and the history of the city with Jeep.

New manager

Toledo will have a new manager on the opening day, since Gabe Alvarez will take over the management for Tim Federowicz.

He becomes the 12th manager for the Mud Hens on the fifth third field and 60th in the history of Toledo Baseball. Alvarez spent time with the Mud Hens as a player from 1998 to 2000.

The return to the Mud Hens trainers is Mud Hens Minor-League legend and “Homerun King” Mike Hessman as a hit trainer and pitching trainer Doug Bochtler.
