A sheriff in Florida says that there is “no signs of an active shooter” and no injuries after the police reacted to a report on shots at the Corry station, an installation of the Navy in Pensacola.

Sheriff Chip Simmons said someone heard several shots on Thursday, but the officials carried out a search and found no evidence of a shootout and no victims.

The base and the Naval Air Station Pensacola had closed the entrances when the police examined. Simmons said the officials continued to carry out a comprehensive basis.

The MPs in Florida responded to reports on shots that were fired at Pensacola at the Naval Air Station, but no shooters or victims were found, officials said.

The Escambia County's office received the report on Thursday morning and all available MPs responded to the subblanking of the Corry station in NAS Pensacola, said officials.

“We are still out there, it's still an active scene, but at that time there is no confirmation,” said Morgan Lewis, spokeswoman for the sheriff of Escambia County, shortly after noon.
