Mourinho says that Fenerbahce as Cerny Nets defeated a good result “a good result” twice for Rangers

The head of the Fenerbahce, Jose Mourinho, said that the 3-1 defeat of his team opposite Rangers in the first leg of her Europa League Last-16 was “a good result”.

With the return leg, which will take place in Glasgow next Thursday, the Portuguese coach remains confident that the tie is far from over.

“We were very bad everywhere,” Mourinho told TNT Sports after the defeat in Istanbul.

“I don't think it is fair to say that we were defensively bad because we were very bad everywhere.

“Maybe you laugh, but for me it was a good result because we occurred. The result could have been greater than this.”

Rangers started quickly when Mohamed Diomande used a defensive mistake by Sebastian Szymanski and played through Cyriel Desser, who scored the goal in six minutes.

But the home team rose on the half -hour brand through a delightful volleye by Alexander Djiku.

Vaclav Cerny then restored Rangers' lead at the end of a quick break before the half -time interval.

Dessers was denied by the offside flag, but Rangers still ended the first leg with a two-goal pillow when Cerny remained his second with nine minutes.

“Defensive we made incredible, incredible mistakes,” said Mourinho.

“They defend a lot with a very low block and then with dangerous points, and we had no pace to follow it.

“So I have to say for myself that we deserve a punishment for this result. If someone wants to ask me if it is over, no, I don't think it's over.”

Ranger's interim boss Barry Ferguson now remained careful and reminded his players that it is only half-time in the two-legged tie.

“The commitment, the desire, sometimes part of the football we played was very good,” said Ferguson.

“We have to remember, it is only half -time in a tie because Fenerbahce has one of the best managers who have ever been.

“We have to be ready for the next Thursday and I'll tell you something, I will have them ready.”

Lyon is in the same position as Rangers after her own 3-1 win against FCSB in Bucharest.

After Nicolas Tagliafico's opening for Lyon was canceled by Alexandru Baluta in the second half, it looked as if the game had scored a Torick Fofana twice in the past five minutes to give the visitors the upper hand.

It was Lyon's first game since coach Paulo Fonseca was suspended for his confrontation with a referee for almost nine months.

The 52-year-old is only allowed to carry out his matchday tasks on November 30 after he pushed against Brest against Brest against Brest against referee Benoit Millot last weekend.
