Residents of Cardendals alerted the concerns of the fire brigade for personnel concerns

Cardendale, ala. – The residents of Gardendale increase alarms over the staff in the city's fire brigade and make concerns about potential effects on emergency times.

The city is working on a third fire station, a project that has been in demand for over a decade. Although the building appears almost ended, Mayor Stan Hogeland said that work on the exhaust system has not yet been completed.

Brad Cantrell, a Gardendale -based and former firefighter in Gardendale, criticized the decision to open the new station with less than minimal personnel requirements.

A recently in the subdivision of Quail Ridge fire -proof house fire emphasized this concerns, with Cantrell found that the fire brigade took 13 minutes for the fire brigade to react. Mayor Hogelland recognized the problem and said: “I mean, I always worry about the response times. That is why we decided to open the third stop because there was some of the city in which … ironically burned down the house.”

As soon as the third fire station is in operation, Hoogen, Fire Brigade 2 and Feuerwache 3 are operated with two firefighters per shift, while the fire brigade will have 1 more. Cantrell pointed out the challenges that this represents and declared that if a firefighter judged a vacation, another from Feuerwache 1 would have to cover the layer for 24 hours.

The city had hired seven additional firefighters when planning the third station. According to the National Fire Protection Association, the industrial standard for safe fire fighting companies is four firefighters per vehicle. Mayor Hogeland assured the residents: “I cannot deny that we want to get at least three in every layer and we will get there. I give my word to the residents. We just have to have time to build this into our budget.”

The fire station is expected to be complete and in operation to May 3.
