Danbury FD takes dangerous propane leaks in the Country Club

Danbury, CT – firefighters from the DANBURY fire brigade and several local departments, reacted to a dangerous propane leak in Lake Waramaug Country Club on Thursday morning, after a big propane armored, near the clubhouse and near residential buildings and nearby.

The Danbury fire brigade was asked for support from Litchfield County Dispatch at 9:28 a.m. as part of the 5 Hazardous Materials Team in Connecticut, a special reaction unit from firefighters from Danbury, Waterbury and Torrington.

According to civil servants, a 2000 pound propant tank had rolled on the side due to soft ground conditions, which led to a significant gas release. While the Hazmat team was on the road, firefighters from Washington, Kent, Northville, Bantam and Warren added more than 1,000 feet of hose and used water currents to dispel the propose.

The reaction efforts included the support of propane entrepreneurs and the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection of Connecticut. Firefighters and technicians worked to close the tank's valves, to stop the leak, while the tank was attached with plastic and wooden costs to prevent further movements.

Mutual auxiliary agreements between fire departments ensure that there are sufficient staff and devices available for complex incidents such as dangerous material leaks, according to the civil servants. Region 5 Hazmat offers a special emergency reaction for 43 cities, which extends from Salisbury to Naugatuck and Ridgefield and is used by Danbury, Waterbury and Torrington.
