Wheeling Police Department resume monthly crime observations | News, sports, jobs

After a break, the Wheeling Police Department resolves personal meetings of neighborhood observations in the winter months.

These meetings offer community members a space to discuss questions and concerns in connection with criminal workers with the officials. The department also provides monthly crime data and shares upcoming events and initiatives at these meetings.

In the past, police chief Shawn Schwertfeger has emphasized the importance of geographical police work in the law enforcement strategy of the department, which includes the analysis of crime trends and the reaction to patterns and concerns in certain areas and neighborhoods of the city.

“The informal meetings aim to establish relationships with residents and to tackle problems in connection with criminal discussions through open discussions,” said the department in a press release.
