NYPD Detective Pole dances in a slippery music video and the Internet are shared

A detective from the New York police authority (NYPD) has been involved in controversy after a video about her twilter and pole dance on social media had become viral. Melissa Mercado, a veteran with seven years of experience in the NYPD, published in a music video by World Hip Hop, in which she can be seen “Gyriating and Shaking” when wearing a tanga and a narrow bra.

According to official records, Ms. Mercado joined the force in 2018 and is currently working as a third grade detective of $ 144,000 per year, which is assigned to Bronx special victims.

The controversy performance of the COP came into the video by Hempstead Rapper S-Quire, whose real name is Phavian Winfield. Although Ms. Mercado's name is not mentioned in the slippery video, the law enforcement officers confirmed the New York Post that it was actually she.

Social media reacts

When Ms. Mercado's video became viral, social media users were shared with a section in which she had the moral obligation to maintain the decency of NYPD, while others explained that what she did in her work-free hours was not a business.

“Whether in service or not, she has a picture to maintain. She obviously does not appreciate her position or work,” said one user, while another was added: “So, a police detective from New York City looks like in 2025. How the times have changed. And not necessarily for the better.”

A third defended her and said: “What she does during her break is not a business of the NYPD. People have 2nd jobs. If she does what, what and?”

It remains unclear whether Ms. Mercando would be punished because of her spatial performance, but this is not the first time that a NYPD -COP caught moonlight in a compromise position.

In 2022, a rookie policeman named Vera Mekuli was caught on video to give a married officer during a police party who had become a little too rowdy. After the video had become viral, she was moved to Transit Bureau.
