The family forces Karnataka Girl, 14, to marry the man who doubles their age; Seen under the age of a viral video

A 14-year-old girl was forced to marry a 29-year-old man in a remote village near Bengaluru, Karnataka. The incident came to light after a video was shown that the girl, who was violently removed from her relative's house, became viral.

The girl from Thimmattur, a small village in the Thottamanju hills near Hosur, had finished until seventh grade and lived with her family.

On March 3, she was married to Madesh, a 29-year-old worker from the nearby Kalikuttai village. On the stressful nature of the situation is the fact that her mother Nagamma, 29, from Bengaluru, played a key role in the agreement of the marriage.

After the wedding, the young girl returned to her house in Thimmattur and expressed herself to her family and her relatives that she did not want to marry Madesh and refused to go into his house. Nevertheless, together with his 38-year-old brother Mallesh, Madesh followed the needy girl and dragged her back to Kalikuttai.

The shocking scene was captured by spectators on her telephones and quickly shared on social media, which caused it to become viral within a few hours.

In response to the outcry, the All Women Police team from Dhenkanikot initiated an investigation of the matter. After the girl's grandmother submitted a complaint, the police arrested Madesh, Mallesh and Nagamma because of their roles in the forced marriage.

All three people are exposed to up to 1 LAKH with a prison sentence of up to two years and a fine of up to 1 LAKH.

The girl now lives with her grandparents.

The marriage of a girl under the age of 18 is illegal as part of the law on children's marriage and is considered void.
