The Ministry of Justice opens antitrust examinations for increasing egg prices – the presidential team

Officials suspect that large egg producers increase prices together and reduce the offer.

The Ministry of Justice (DOJ) opened an investigation of the rising US egg prices last week to examine potential antitrust law for large egg producers.

The price for eggs increased noticeably last year, with the largest price range of 15.2 percent occurring between December 2024 and January 2025. This increase was attributed to the outbreak of bird flu, in which egg manufacturers knew their herds and reduced the range of eggs in the nation.

In a letter to the Ministry of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission last month, Farm Action, an advocacy group, claimed that the increase in egg prices was tightened by the collective pricing at large egg manufacturers. The doj examines to obtain precise information about the situation.

The US Agriculture Minister Brooke Rollins reported this week: “Good news that we have just received, the average costs for dozen eggs have now dropped 1.85 US dollars.”

The USDA also found that in almost two weeks there were no significant outbreaks of (highly pathogenic bird -influenza).

As the Lord leads, pray with us …

  • For Doj and FTC officials who try to ensure that there is no cooperation with producers in increasing egg prices.
  • For the USDA secretary Rollins when she monitors the persecution of bird flu and lowers the costs for eggs.
