Man from Sparta, Mo. was guilty of shooting for the death of his nephew

Mansfield, Mo. (Ky3) -A man from Sparta faces a prison sentence after a jury found him guilty of shooting and killing his nephew.

The investigators say that a video of a ring camera Nick Owens, 60, showed Zachery Owens' property near Mansfield in June 2022 without permission. They say Nick wanted to take a trailer without Zachery – and a fight then led to shots.

Zachery Owens was a hairdresser in Mansfield. He was a daughter's father. Community members say he is a selfless person.

“Everyone loved Zach. He loved children. He just felt you normally. He was just a good guy. Everyone liked him, ”said Randy Collins, a community member in Mansfield, shortly after the shootout towards Ky3. “He had no enemies. Everyone only turned to Zach and he was so nice to everyone. He would like to treat small children and adults, you know, talk to him. “

Zachery Owens served in the navy.

The jury recommends a 25-year prison sentence for the second-degree murder conviction. Owens will be convicted on April 24th.
