Inmarsat checks unprecedented 340 Mbit / s nexuswave download to demonstrate the performance of the network binding for the maritime market

Real-World tests from Nexuswave confirm the power supply of bound connectivity for ships at sea: facilitating a superior maximum, minimum and average download and uploading speed, since the availability of networks is an average of over 99.9%.

Inmarsat Maritime, a Viasat company, has checked its fully managed connectivity service Nexuswave, maximum download speeds of 330–340 megabit per second with maximum upload speeds of 70–80 Mbit / s in real tests. The experiments showed average download and upload speeds of 120–150 Mbit / s or 20–45 Mbit / s, whereby the network availability on board Nexuswave ships over 99.99%.

In contrast to the load compensation that Hybrid connectivity solutions normally use to deliver bandwidth via the best available documents network, Nexuswave from Inmarsat Maritime combines several underflows in a bound connection.

The solution enables applications to use the total capacity of all available networks instead of relying on a network. In addition to unprecedented speeds, the unique network -binding approach offers superior reliability and redundancy.

For example, the quality of a video conference in practical tests is practically not influenced by the availability or quality of a single network. Nexuswave uses binding technology and dynamically adapts the traffic routing to get a seamless and uninterrupted experience.

“The results of our real tests show that the peerless performance of Nexuswave as a fully managed bound maritime connectivity service is most evident.” Commented Ben Palmer, President of Inmarsat Maritime. “The ability to achieve speeds of 340 Mbit / s comes from the performance of the network binding within Nexuswave: No individual lost network within the package can achieve this speed alone. In Nexuswave, Inmarsat's maritime customers secure a unique promise of value: the capacity of several solutions with the convenience of a single provider. “

Nexuswave was developed to offer “Connected Confidence” and also provides unlimited data, global covers and firewall security, while Inmarsat Maritime experts offer customers technical support worldwide. As a uniform service, the solution ensures the managed performance level regardless of the location or the requirements of the ship with full transparency for the total operating costs.

In a step that is intended to further increase the aggregated connectivity speeds, the future-proof solution will integrate the next generation's ultra-high capacity with high-speed viassat-3-ka-band service after entering the service.

“Part of what Nexuswave makes so convincing is the ability to seamlessly integrate additional technologies and networks into the available networks,” added Ben Palmer. “This ensures that the service continuously improves over time and that customers complete the networked trust in relation to the further developing challenges and requirements.”
