Steve Austin shares honest thoughts about WWE Wrestlemania Match

WWE

Stone Cold Steve Austin announced that in April 2022 he was disappointed with aspects of his WWE Wrestlemania 38 game.

Austin defeated the last game for the Texas rattlesnake in one of the WWE -Ple under No Holds Barred rules.

It would mark the first game in Austin's career since WWE Wrestlemania 19 in March 2003, in which he had lost against the rock.

Austin spoke to the Takedown on Si and looked back on the game with a feeling of regret and revealed that he suffered from a lack of timing.

Steve Austin said that he did not send him a ring from the WWE after the rust to work off the rust after nineteen years:

“I was happy at a moment, but you (the WWE) didn't send me down a ring. I had no timing.

“I think you have interviewed triple h, the undertaker and Hogan. Each of them said something that was so true.

“Paul said you can come back, but you don't know what you have because you haven't been out there yet. The undertakker said they won't have timing. He was right. I had no timing. To hell, I had not hit ropes for 19 years. Hadn't done a blow for 19 years (since his last WWE match).

“Hogan says you are just not cally. Your body is not as difficult as before. He was right, because when you take off, people talk about ring rust, that's timing. So I had no timing. Hogan spoke of being retreat … these ropes hurt. These bumps hurt.

“If you make a long comeback, you need two or three months to get these callouses back so that your body doesn't hurt after each game. They build an immunity so that they scored valid points.

“As Paul said, you don't know what you have until you get out of it because you think you understand it, but you don't. When I went out there, I couldn't hear the crowd as much as I wanted.

“When I saw it back, the crowd was on it. It was very, very loud, yes, but I wish I had taken more time, enjoyed more moments and dealt with people a little more than me.

“I think I was in a room where I didn't know what I had and tried to be a little too hectic. I could have slowed down drastically and did it better. I wish I had done it. I didn't say too many people, but I told you. “

With Wrestlemania 41 on April 19 and 20, 2025, Austin previously explained that he had no conversation about the upcoming WWE PL.

In January 2025, Steve Austin announced that he was able to return to the gym after a total knee replacement operation.
