Madison Keys competes with the elite group of women with 15 games Sieg Streak after 30

Madison Keys, the reigning Australian Open Champion, experienced a phenomenal winning streak and secured her 15th victory in a row on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tour at the Indian Wells Open. This impressive performance was achieved by a highly competitive three-set victory against Donna Vekic. Keys' triumphant run on the square has remained unbroken since her quarter -final loss on January 3 at the ASB Classic.

After their defeat at the ASB Classic, Keys recovered by winning the title in the Adelaide International and then in their first Grand Slam Trophy in Melbourne Park. A thigh injury brought her to miss the Middle East, but Keys returned more at the WTA 1000 tournament in the USA. She started her tournament trip with victories over Anastasia Potapova and Elise Mertens, which led to her allusion with the 19th seed Vekic.

Although Keys lost the opening set and initially remained in the second set-tie breaker, she showed her persistence by turning the script with a 4-6, 7-6 (7), 6-3 victory. This victory, one of three in Indian Wells, came just a month after her 30th birthday. Such an achievement provides you with an elite group of only five women to have secured a 15-game victory streak post for her 30th birthday.

This exclusive group includes tennis legends such as Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova and Serena Williams. However, keys still have considerable properties to achieve the longest victory strips in tour history. Navratilova holds the record with an astonishing 74-game victory in the 1984. Steffi Graf is a short second place with 66 victories from 1989 to 1990, while Navratilova holds third place with a winning series with 58 games.

In the recent history, Iga Swiatek, a five-time Grand Slam winner, has 37 consecutive victories in 2022 with the 12th longest run in the open times. From now on, Keys is undeniable in top form on the WTA tour. Her next challenge is in the quarterfinals against Belinda Bencic, who recently annoyed the third seed Coco GaISF.

The head-to-head record between Keys and Bencic is 2-2, with their last game in Charleston ending in 2022 in favor of Bencic. Nevertheless, Keys exudes the confident aura of a Grand Slam winner, with its enjoyment on the square and the wave of the dynamics.

Keys' victory against Vekic also receives another award. She has been the first woman since Serena Williams in 2015 to win her first 10 three-set games in one season. This includes three victories in Adelaide, five at the Australian Open and two in Indian Wells. In this way, keys continues to strengthen its status as an impressive force in the women's tennis, at an age when many athletes are difficult to maintain their lace shape.
