Proponents gathered in record numbers for the call-on congress

Washington DC, March 13, 2025 (Globe Newswire) -Fight Colorctal Cancer (Fight CRC), the leading organization of the country, which is dedicated to the end of colon cancer, has brought together more than 300 survivors, and the relatives, the relatives for the 19th annual call in Washington in Washington, DC.

Colon cancer is the second -riding cause of cancer -related deaths in the United States, and cases in people under the age of 50 increase with alarming speed. Despite its growing effects, the special research financing of the federal government did not keep up. Proponents of almost all 50 countries traveled to Washington, DC from March 9th to 11th, 2025, to share their personal stories and make it clear that colon cancer is more than a statistics-it is a daily reality for families across the country that fight for more time.

Just like the supporters gathered for increased research financing, the congress took a devastating step backwards. The House of Representatives has recently passed a law to finance government funds that reduces the financing for the medical research program (CDMRP) led by the Congress in the Ministry of Defense. CDMRP has long been a critical source of financing for research in colon cancer, and these cuts would trace life -saving progress after years.

Now it is up to the Senate to decide whether these harmful cuts are accepted or medical research should be protected. You are expected to vote in the next few days.

Fight CRC asks all supporters to contact their senators and ask them to reject these cuts and to work for cancer patients, survivors and their families. Medical research saves life. We cannot afford to fall back.

“This was the moment when we came together to hear our voices,” said Anjee Davis, CEO from Fight CRC. “The call-on congress could not have come at a better time. We were there to remind the legislator that this disease is urgent and personal. Our supporters shared their stories and ensured that colon cancer remained at the top of the political discussions. But we can't stop now. Cutting research agents is not an option – we need our senators to increase and protect this critical investment. “

At the call-on congress, the supporters have transferred their fight against Capitol Hill and told personal stories that brought the reality of colon cancer to life. They emphasized the urgent need for better prevention, treatment and early detection strategies. Their votes served as a strong evidence of the human costs of this disease and the need for sensible federal investments in research.
