Wallington Fire Rescue: The free firefighter runs in Burning Home to save the victim in New Jersey

Wallington, New Jersey (WABC) – A quick -thinking fireman who saved a victim from a burning building on Wednesday helped save a victim.

The fire was in a house in the 108 Wallington Ave. reported shortly after 3:15 p.m.

Firefighter Robert Decker, a 20-year-old veteran of the Wallington Fire Department, worked as a manager at Wallington Plumbing Supply next door.

He ran out of his office and entered the burning house with a fire extinguisher who loosened the fire and searched for someone.

He found a man inside, who was partly aware of and took him out of the fire. The victim was taken to a local hospital.

“You don't think you just use your training and the training begins,” said Decker.

Decker said as far as he heard, the man he helped remains stable.

“We are incredibly proud of the bravery and selflessness of firefighter Decker,” said Mayor Melissa Dabal.

The cause of the fire remains examined.
