United Way Day of Care combines 350 volunteers for community service

The United Way of Beaumont & North Jefferson County is preparing for the eighth annual day of care and brings together local companies and non-profit organizations for a working day on which organizations that are in the United Way roof better serve.

Over 350 volunteers from 26 companies in the region take part in this year's event on March 28 to complete projects for local non -profit organizations.

“The day of care is one of the most popular events in United Way that we carry out every year,” said President and CEO Karyn husbands in a press release. “We look forward to sending 32 teams on 25 project sites throughout our community.”

Volunteers will carry out a variety of jobs that range from buildings to landscapes, repair of fences, painting and preparation of educational materials in locations such as sleep in heavenly peace, south -east -Sexas food bank, nutrition and services for seniors, the salvation army and much more.

“Our business partners really enjoy making their hands dirty as they improve our community,” said husbands in the publication. “Our non -profit agencies and other non -profit organizations really like to carry out these projects, because otherwise they may not have been completed.”

While a number of volunteers have been part of the annual work since his start, around 40 will take part for the first time this year – a number of United Way hopes to grow in future campaigns.

“We always turn to companies to involve them,” said communication director Travis Walker.

The day begins with the day of care at 8 a.m. by Exxonmobil. It includes breakfast, tasks for voluntary location, an address of the mayor Roy West and a special announcement on the recent proportion of United Way the Love, which will be held in January by JK Subaru, JK Chevrolet and Rave Financial.
