Laredo receives a fire weather watch after experiencing record heat

The National Weather Service published another fire weather watch for Saturday in Laredo. This is followed by a nationwide warning for the red flag for Friday in Texas, which brings an increased risk of forest fires.

According to the National Weather Service, a dry line will move in the region on Friday evening on Friday afternoon. The drying line brings dry air and creates critical fire weather conditions.

The warning of the red flag will come into force on Friday from 12 noon to 9 p.m., since they have a critical dry and low relative humidity throughout south -tests, with the exception of the Victoria CrossRoads, the Coastal Bend and the barrier islands. Dry fuels refer to dry grass, shrubs, trees and other vegetation.

The fire weather watch continues from late Friday to Saturday afternoon to the early evening. In addition to Webb County, it includes Bee, Duval, Domestic Klebererg, domestic Nueces, domestic San Patricio, Jim Wells, La Salle, Live Oak and McMullen.

The National Weather Service asked the residents to “train the supply of all outdoor activities that accidentally cause forest fires” and “quickly report forest fires to the next fire brigade or law enforcement authority”.

The messages come after Laredo had two fire weather watches last week and the city had recorded its first three -digit temperature of 2025 on Wednesday. The high of 101 band the record for the hottest March 12th in the recorded story that plays in 1904. It was the city's first 100 degree day since September 13th.

During the red flag warning on Friday, Laredo is expected to reach a high of 100 and a low of 66. Surface winds reach up to 16 miles per hour with gusts of up to 22 miles per hour and the relative humidity is between 7% and 15%.

During the Fire Weather Watch on Saturday, the temperatures with a high of 88 and a low of 61 will be considerably cooler. The surface winds are between 10 and 21 miles per hour all day, with the gusts of up to 25 miles per hour, and the relative humidity is between 11% and 31%.

Sunday and Monday have similar conditions. The high of Sunday is 86, with a low of 55, surface winds of up to 15 miles per hour, gusts of up to 20 miles per hour and relative humidity from 9% to 32%. The high on Monday is 89, with a low of 53, surface winds of up to 21 miles per hour and gusts of up to 28 miles per hour. The relative humidity reaches up to 50%on Monday, but is between 14%and 34%after noon.

Tuesday will heat up slightly, with a high of 92 and a low of 60 strong winds, with the surface winds between 15 and 23 miles per hour and gusts of up to 32 miles per hour. However, the relative humidity will also rise and are between 20% and 72%.

The precipitation potential remains 0%during this route. The last rainfall of Laredo was 0.02 inches on February 22nd. This is the only measurable precipitation since the end of January, which means that Tuesday is marked 47 days with only 0.02 inches.

The city's 0.58 inch rainfall in 2025 is significantly below the normal amount of 2.35 inches and slightly behind the previous year of 0.69 inches.
