First alarm weather day Friday due to the harmful wind potential

Rapid City, SD (Kota) – The gusts of wind will increase on Friday morning and continue for a large part of the Kota territory until Saturday morning. The strongest gusts of wind will be from Belle Voirche to Sturgis, Rapid City to Hermosa/Fairburn and areas east in central -South Dakota.

Wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour will probably be in these places. This leads to difficult driving conditions and can cause wind damage or even some isolated power outages.

Blowing dust and ruins will reduce air quality in some areas – especially in West Rapid City.

Wind gusts of up to 55 miles per hour will be possible Sparfish and in the northwestern South Dakota.
