Center Jack Eichel set a franchise record from Vegas Golden Knights for most points in a single season with 79 after taking a power play assist on Nicolas Roys first goal against Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday evening.

The previous record (78) was set up by William Karlsson in the first campaign when he scored 43 goals and added 35 templates for 78 points.

Eichel is only the third player in the history of Vegas with 70 points and competed in Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault, who finished second in the team in 2017-18.

Eichel is located in the middle of the best statistical season of his career and has already set several personal bests, including Assists (59) and Power Play points (30). His 59 assists also set a franchise record for most templates in a single season, whereby David Perron's former highest high was exceeded from 2017 to 18 to 2018.

Eichel is now three points away after playing in 77 games in 2018-19 82.

Eichel always had elite skills, but he has developed into a real 200-foot force since he joined the golden knights. In parts of four seasons with Vegas, Eichel scored 92 goals and 238 points in 228 games, which leads all Vegas skaters in this period.

Eichel played a key role in the Stanley Cup run by Golden Knights in 2023 and scored six goals and 26 points in 22 games. He ended the first round last year against Dallas with three goals and seven points in seven games.

The native of Massachusetts has 231 goals and 593 points in 602 career games with the Golden Knights and Sabres. Eichel was originally drafted by Buffalo in the 2015 NHL entry draft by Buffalo as second. Vegas acquired him in a multi-player deal on November 4, 2021.
