The Common Council of the city of Verona swore two new officers on Monday, March 10th and the Verona Police Department (VPD) welcomed a well -known face.
Officer Brockton Russell entered the department on August 5, 2024 and previously worked as an officer and sales representative in Oregon. Russell's career as a law enforcement began in 2021 and he has a bachelor's degree in criminal judiciary at the University of Wisconsin-Platville.
Officer Bailey Paulsen began working for VPD on December 2, 2024. Previously, he worked as a field training officer in Dubuque, Iowa. Paulsen received his bachelor's degree at the Northern Iowa University.
The council also recognized Brett Cash, a current social worker in the Verona Senior Center. Cash is now also a part-time specialist for VPD as a part-time coordination specialist for VPD serves and focuses on supporting people in the crises, together with those who have mental illnesses, substance dependency, homelessness, self-care problems and victims of crime.
