The video from the airport shows dozens of passengers who left the plane and stood on the wing when smoke filled the air.

Six passengers were taken to the hospital for further evaluation, a spokesman for the American Airlines told CNN.

“We thank our crew members, the team and the first aiders for their quick and decisive measures with the certainty of everyone on board and on site as a priority,” said the airline.

Video, which was recorded by a woman in Montana at the airport and is waiting for a connecting flight, a large cloud of smoke from the plane shows that as a dozens of passengers leave the plane.

Kristal Leonard, who came in from Helena, Montana, told CNN that she was waiting for her connecting flight to Colorado Springs at the International Airport. Then she looked outside and saw flames and smoke that devour the plane.

“I was afraid of these passengers,” said Leonard. “I can't even imagine how fear they must have been.”

American Airlines sends a replacement aircraft and a crew according to Denver to help customers continue to Dallas, said the airline.

This is a developing history and is updated.
