2025 Australian Grand Prix – Free Practice 2 F1 results (Albert Park)

Charles Leclerc set the pace in the second training session in front of the Australian Grand Prix.

The McLaren duo of Oscar Piatri and Lando Norris sat in close attention to an ultra-competitive top three, a scene in which Lewis Hamilton could not penetrate the sister Ferrari.

Charles Leclerc Tops FP2

Mercedes' George Russell set the early pace and rose to 1: 17,565 on the hard rubber, while Hamilton continued to set up speed after a challenging first session as Ferrari driver.

No structure for the driver he replaced, Carlos Sainz, who continued to look at the bike of his new Williams and lowered the benchmark on the media to 1: 17:302.

It was Ferrari One and Two when the session approached halfway, Leclerc fourteenth on Hamilton, but now the soft tires came out to play.

And even then Ferrari Seitsch, Leclerc delivered a 1: 16.439 on the red -walled softs, while McLaren's Piatri and Norris were within a tenth and half to complete the top three, Piatri in front of Norris.

After his push round, Hamilton was on the softs in P5 and four tenths ahead of Leclerc.

And these top three would remain the same until the end, a thrust for Ferrari that goes to a dry qualification day before Regen arrives on Sunday, which decides this test time for the search for the right compromise in the setup.

A potential blow then for Haas' Oliver Bearman, who missed the entire session after his heavy FP1 shunt.
