Silverdal students present skills on the management day | News

Head of me is an evidence -based model before the 12th grade, which according to Franklincovey builds resilience and leadership with students, creates a culture with high loyalty and improves academic achievements.

Frankincovey is a coaching company that offers companies and services for managers and services.

The Leader program in Me program came to school more than a decade ago when a teacher who had learned it through Franklincovey.

“You popped it up so that you fit into an educational environment, and it really allows the students to think about the good actual habits that we can do to be successful,” said Ryan Reable, Silverdal Elementary Principal.

There are eight habits that students learn every day and put them into practice.

The habits are proactive, starting with the end, first the first, the Win-win-win-win-win-win-win-win-angle, saturated, sharpens the saw and finding your voice.

“The program helps us to grasp the entire child,” said Reable. “We obviously concentrate on their academic skills, but we talk about the other things that make them a round person and more successful when they go to adulthood throughout their educational career and adulthood.”

Reade said that the hope is that the students will remember the basic skills and habits until adulthood.

“We are working on being proactive and building habits that are important for daily skills, and that is the magic of it,” he said.

“We are looking for intrinsic habits that we build with these students, which they will take with us throughout their life.”

The Leader program in ME was immediately successful in Silverdale when it started in 2015, and several other Onslow County schools have followed since then.

Every year, schools in the program for the Lighthouse status, a standard standard defined by Frankincovey, have to recert.

On Thursday, Silverdale was recertified for his 10th year with the Leadership Day Showcase.

From students who act as a moderator and travel guide, to the presentation of what their school clubs did all year round, there was a lot to see.

“We make it essential to invite our board members, our community partners, former students and retired teachers, people who have invested a lot in Silverdale, in the head and me program to see it processed, see it and see the pupils who show their skills,” said Reable.

There was a football club, a film club, a Cat Club, a Lego club, even a hair and nail club, to name just a few.

The students also told the participants of the Leadership Day the history of the school while doing tours through the campus. The drama club even organized a short sketch based on the Disney Fairytale “Rapunzel”.

The head in ME program also affects a student Lighthouse team, a selected group of classes in classes two to five who act as votes for their colleagues.

According to Reable, Reable said that the school for new playground equipment, a project on which the Lighthouse team was introduced.

“You have property at school,” said Reable. “They are not students who only listen to what the adults tell them. They are invested and involved in this communication to ensure that this is their place.

“We all live together here, they also have a voice.”

Reade said he definitely noticed and heard that the program made a difference in the life of the students.

A different habit concentrates every month and the school newsletter focuses on this information with the parents about how they can be installed at home.

“If our students go to excursions or are elsewhere, there is a solid difference in the interaction of children and only their emotional serenity in these situations in public,” said Reable.

“People recognize, hey, something else about this Silverdale children, and I attribute this to the guide in me.”
