The restaurant chain offers 1000 reimbursements after viral videos shows guests who urinate in soup

Shanghai (WKRC) – A restaurant chain has published an apology and reports reportedly thousands of reimbursements after a viral video has shown a dinner in his soup.

Accordingly PEOPLEPaying a statement by Agence France press (AFP) and Reuters, Haidilao, one of the largest restaurant chains in China, reports more than 4,000 guests who visited a location in downtown Shanghai between February 24th and March 8th.

“Since the management did not make emergency plans or had a training course for dealing with this type of incident, the employees of our branch could not recognize anomalies on site or maintain the safety of the food environment,” wrote the company in an explanation of PEOPLE.

A hotpot is a large pot with broth, to which guests can add vegetables, meat and other foods.

“We fully understand that the burden that our customers are caused by this incident cannot be fully compensated for in any way,” said Haidilao in a statement obtained from the BBC. “We are ready to do our best to take responsibility.”

According to Reuters, the incident occurred on February 24, whereby the company only became aware of the situation after the environment of the video on social media. Haidilao reported the incident to the authorities and two 17-year-old boys were arrested after an examination.

The company has submitted a civil lawsuit against the teenagers, Reuters reported.

Haidilao, which operates more than 1,000 restaurants worldwide, is known for his family -friendly atmosphere in which women receive manicures and wait for children for a table in accordance with BBC.
