Omaha, along with (Wowt) – A warm and windy day before a approaching storm system gives us exactly what we need to see a few strong to heavy storms later in the afternoon. That is why Friday is still a first watchful weather day.

Wind gusts of 75 miles per hour are the main concern, together with a fast, moving storms that subject our entire area. I can't emphasize enough how quickly this line moves. This will probably also give most of us a very short round of difficult potential, followed by much quieter and quiet weather.

More showers are also possible later tonight, but they won't worry much. Boyst northwest winds that hit 50 miles per hour are probably overnight until early Saturday morning to pull into colder air. A bit of wet snow is possible in the showers early Saturday, but only very low effects are expected. Sunday will easily be the best day of the weekend.
