Twelve people were injured on Thursday when an aircraft American Airlines caught fire after landing at Denver International Airport.

The flight 1006 drove from Colorado Springs Airport to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport when, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, it was redirected to Denver around 5:15 p.m.

During the key to the gate, the engine of the Boeing 737-800 fire and the passengers were evacuated from the plane using object carriers, added the FAA.

The 172 customers and six crew members were brought to the terminal, airlines said in a statement.

Airport officials said that the 12 people who were taken to the hospital had minor injuries.

Photos and videos of the incident showed passengers who stood on the wing of an aircraft when Rauch surrounded the plane and the runway.

“We thank our crew members, the team and the first aiders for their quick and decisive measures with the certainty of everyone on board and on site as a priority,” said American Airlines.
