UCF brotherhood examines for allegations of harmful incidents – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sport

Orlando, Fla. (WSVN) – The Sigma Chi Brotherhood at the University of Central Florida became the focus of an examination that was accused of being accused of having the security of its commitments due to harmful harassment.

In the reports of the campus police, several brotherhood members were reported two separate incidents last month.

The first was in the back yard of the Sigma Chi house, while the second was on the streets of the campus.

The report says that the campus police have examined whether members of Sigma Chi forced new members to stand in front of cars while other members drove into them and beat them.

A witness claims that a gray car had hit one of the commitments at about 10 to 15 miles per hour.

According to the clinical psychologist Dr. Susan Lipkin is about power.

“Hazing has a beginning, a middle and an end. It is planned. It is not an impulsive activity, ”said the clinical psychologist and Tating expert Dr. Susan Lipkins. “You know exactly what you are doing and you believe that you have control. And they believe that nobody is hurt. The problem is when you do risky things, people are injured. “

According to the campus police, she interviewed three Sigma Chi members, all of whom denied the allegations. They claimed they played basketball and nobody was injured.

The report, however, states that one of the members was evasive.

The fraternity has a history of suspensions, with eight confirming the university between 2015 and 2020.

One of the suspensions came from Sigma Chi members who allegedly had forced a promise to take cocaine.

“As a group, it is possible that you can stop it. As an individual, if the individuals try to stop harassment, they are usually worse, ”said Dr. Susan Lipkin.

The University of Central Florida has confirmed its zero tolerance guideline for harassment on campus. The Sigma Chi National Office has not yet commented.
