Spring training begins for Tecolotes-Dos Laredos in the Uni-Trade Stadium

It didn't feel outside, especially with the bright sun, but March 13th could also have been Christmas Day for the Tecolotes -Dos Laredos and Manager Felix Fermin.

March 13th was the first spring training for the Tecos in Laredo's university trade stadium.

“We are happy to be here,” said Fermin, the Mexican manager of the Mexican Baseball League in 2023. “Another year in Laredo with the Tecos. We are excited because we know that we will get a good season this year and try to win the sixth championship for this organization.”

The Tecos start their 2025-die 85 season. The Ball Club since its foundation in 1940-from April 18 to April 20 on the street in Monclova. The opening day in the university trade stadium will take place on April 23 against Durango. As usual, the Tecos will split their home games between Laredo's Uni-Trade Stadium and Nuevo Laredos Parque La Junta.

Just a week before the spring training session, the Managing Group of the Uni-Trade Stadium, ASM Global, and the TECOS achieved a three-year agreement to keep the Mexican Baseball League team in the Laredo Ball Park. The Tecos has been playing in the university trade stadium since 2018.

“We enjoy the fans. We play here every day,” said Fermin. “We look forward to a good season this year.”

He added: “We are happy to be back in Laredo with the Tecos. We will make sure it is a good season for us.”

The time between the beginning of spring training and the start of the season is invaluable for the Tecos, which have been looking for the first league title since the fifth club in 1989 in 1989, around 1953, 1954, 1958 and 1977. Also in 1945, 1955, 1959, 1985, 1987, 1987, 1992 and 1993 and 1993.

“We will try to finish everyone,” said Fermin. “This is the first in spring training. We will do the best to finish everyone.”
