The Wheeling Fire Department reacted to a brush fire on the Kelly Drive on Friday afternoon, after receiving several calls that were approaching several structures in the area.
Firefighters quickly got the blazes under control, which had spread directly on the Kelly Drive directly on the Oglebay Drive.
According to the WFD deputy boss Winston West, the cause of the fire is still examined.
West said the fire was embedded deep into the dead trees in the courtyard.
“No structures were involved. We stopped it before these structures. We just came to work and went to work immediately, and that was able to prevent a greater loss, ”he said.
The city announced on Friday afternoon that the city of Wheeling is under an urban burning ban from outdoor due to dry and windy weather conditions, which can lead to fire spreading faster.
According to a press release from the WFD, the ban will be re -evaluated on Monday after the expected precipitation this weekend.
