US envoy says that Hamas has misrepresented the publication of Geisel

The US special representative in the Middle East Steve Witkoff said that a Hamas declaration announced on Friday, in which it was announced to publish an American-Israeli soldier, is actually a state of a “bridge” cheemous proposal that was offered by US providers at the beginning of this week.

On the early Friday, the American terrorist group gave the Hamas an explanation in which he agreed to publish Edan Alexander, the last living American hostage, which was held in Gaza, and the single-sized body of four further hostages after receiving a proposal by intermediaries to resumption the negotiations in the second phase of a Gaza-Casefire deal.

The explanation states that the proposal of unnamed mediators was offered as part of the work in Qatar to restart the ceasefire negotiations. The United States, Egypt and host Qatar have conveyed the ceasefire talks.

Hamas expressed its “complete willingness to start negotiations and to achieve a comprehensive agreement on the questions of the second phase”.

Later on Friday, Witkoff's office explained in a joint explanation that was published together with the National Security Council, and Eric Trager, the high -ranking director of the Senior Middle East, submitted the bridge proposal to extend the current ceasefire beyond the Ramadan and allow Pessach to negotiate a framework for a permanent armory.

In the statement, Witkoff said that after the proposal, Hamas would publish additional living hostages in exchange for prisoners and that the expansion of the phase-one ceasefire would give more time for humanitarian aid to take up in Gaza.

He said the United States conveyed its partners of Katari and Egyptian mediations in Hamas “without a doubt” that the new proposal would have to be implemented soon and that Edan Alexander would have to be published immediately.

“Unfortunately, Hamas decided to publicly claim flexibility,” said Witkoff in the explanation, “while they made privately claims that are completely impractical without permanent ceasefire.”

In an explanation on the X Social Media platform of X Social Media, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus office said that Israel “had accepted the Witkoff framework”, but that Hamas “continues to put psychological warfare against hostage families”.

The explanation also states that the Prime Minister convened his team of minister on Saturday evening for a detailed briefing of the negotiation team and “would decide on steps to free the hostages and reach all of our war goals”.

It is believed that Hamas 24 in October 7, 2023, who triggered his war with Israel. The group also holds the corpses of 34 others who were either killed in the first attack or captivity, as well as the remains of a soldier killed in 2014.

In comments on Fox Business News On Friday, the press spokesman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, said that she was careful when she started the Hamas statements at the nominal value, but emphasized that US President Donald Trump had “worked hard” to bring hostages home.

Witkoff told reporters in the White House in early March that Alexander's publication had a “top priority”.

A ceasefire has been available since January. In the first phase of the three-phase armistice, the Hamas exchanged 33 Israeli hostages and five Thais against 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and prisoners.

Israel pushed Hamas to accept an expansion of the first phase that ended on March 2. Hamas had said that it wanted to move into the second phase of the agreement, which would include the release of further hostages and the withdrawal of Israel from the Gaza.
