The police pursue the suspect after shooting the officials, Hilo schools have locked up

UPDATE – – (12:30 p.m.) -In an update reported that the 39-year-old suspect was on foot at the shootout on Friday, Christopher Lucrisia, near the streets Manono and Leilani in Hilo. “Please avoid the area,” said the police in an alarm message and warned that Lucrissia should be armed and considered dangerous.

Waiakea schools reported that the blocking was lifted and they were deleted to resume normal operation.

(Bivn) – The police pursue a suspect at a police shootout in Hilo, and the schools were used up as a precaution.

The Hawaii police authority confirms that a police officer was shot on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 10:50 a.m. in the first Hawaiian bank on Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo.

The suspect was identified by the police as a 39-year-old Christopher Lucrissia.



“Lucrisia is suspected of shoting a police officer twice,” says a police warning message. “As a passenger, he fled in a white Chevy Pickup, Lic # ZLD014, towards the airport. The driver of the pick-up truck is also male. ”

Lucrisia is described by the police as 5,10 ”, 250 pound Puertorican man with green eyes and black hair. It is considered armed and dangerous.

“Don't go away,” the police warned the public. “When you are seen, please call 911.”

The schools in Waiakea were mocked as a precaution. “There is no immediate danger for pupils or employees, but we pursue security protocols to ensure that all,” the school officers wrote in a message to the parents. “Our campus is secured during this time and nobody can enter or end until we receive approval from the responsible authorities. We kindly ask you that you will not come to school at this time because our priority is to maintain a safe and controlled environment for all students and employees. “
