East Lansing Accraces for Busy tournament and St. Patrick's Day Weekend

East Lansing, Michigan (Wilx) – East Lansing is a lively weekend because both basketball and hockey in Michigan will play in the big ten tournament.

That doesn't mentions St. Patrick's Day falls on Monday!

In warm weather in the forecast, more people are expected to meet the city.

“When it is warm outside, they love to sit outside, they have the umbrellas that did not hit their face directly, but it is only something about the sun and outside and drinking with their friends.

With the increased crowds, the police in East Lansing rises to the patrols and doubles their usual staff.

“We will have some police officers in the area. Some focus on drinking and enforcing the enforcement and others will only concentrate on regular open alcohol and the enforcement of cash, ”said Lt. Adrian Ojerio, the department's public information officer.

Local companies are also preparing for one of the most busy weekends of the year.

Michael Krueger, owner of Crunchy, prepares himself and says: “We only make sure that all of our employees are ready to turn them out as soon as possible so that they are not burned out.”

Despite the crowd, many MSU students are looking forward to a weekend full of celebrations.

“It's nice to have a community outside of school,” said Abby Losey, student of the Michigan State University.

The police remind you of celebrating responsibility and realizing that minors are strictly enforced.

“Everyone can come out and enjoy the celebrations, but if they are not older and caught, there can be consequences,” said Ojerio.

With March Madness in full swing, East Lansing could see even more busy weekends.
