Ward told the MPs when he arrived at Maloon, he came out and shot down several times.

Whittaker said that Maloon brutally beat his wife Juanita Maloon (53), just before Ward arrived in his house.

There was a chase where Joe continued to shot and his car RAM.

“I'm shot and I go 100 miles per hour Lightsville Road North. He tries to run me off the street. He has a gun. He shoots at me, ”said the dispatchers in a call.

The chase ended with an accident on the Coletown Lightsville Road, in which Maloon was killed.

Ward was seriously injured at the shootout and flown to the Miami Valley Hospital.

Whittaker said he believed that Joe was the only threat.
