Visalia goes for the St. Patrick's Day with Saturday parade and Irish Festival in the Park Grün

Visalia, California (KFSN) – It is a weekend full of celebrations, fun and a bit of luck when visalia on Saturday for his St. Patrick's Day Parade and Irish will be firm in the park.

Breakfast Lions Club organizes its 15th annual event- from the city center in Main Street at 10 a.m.

“Everyone celebrates St. Patrick's Day. They start with the downtown of Visalia who carry out the parade, they go from the parade and actually go to the Vintage press and at one o'clock it is the Irish festival in the amusement park and the fun begins there,” says Terry Culotta, the chairman of Visalia Breakfast Lions Irish.

Tickets cost $ 50 online and 60 US dollars on the door.

Disposed drivers can obtain 20 US dollars.

There will be a dozen food trucks with free unlimited beer, wine and alcohol tastings from almost 50 providers.

Many of them are local, including 1852, Brewbakers, Longshot Brewery, Simply Brewing, Salty Walrus, Lake Bood, The Blend Wine Room and TC hops.

In the meantime, the organizers encourage people to plan ahead.

“We would like to make sure that this is an entertaining safe event and that we will help you bring you home when you drive home. We ask you to find a ride and or downtown attempts. There will be taxis.

The California Highway Patrol also calls on people to be responsible this weekend.

The office in Visalia will have additional patrols on the streets and in the city center, hoping to deter Dui drivers.

“Even if you only see a patrol police officer, the way of thinking will be changed by someone, or even if he has any questions, whether we drive or not, we hope that someone will discourage someone from driving and hopefully call the right decision when you start a ride or when you call from someone,” said the Chp officer Adrian Gonzalez.

Event managers say that profits for the 21-year event return to the community and are distributed through scholarships and grants to support local non-profit organizations.

But beyond the money, events are an opportunity to experience and hug different traditions.

“To experience different cultures and see what's going on, especially St. Patrick's Day is just a lot of fun,” says Terry.

The celebrations in Visalia begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the parade that runs along Main Street from Church Street to Willis Downtown.

The fun is continued in the Recreation Park for Irish firmly in the park.

Around 1,500 people are expected to participate.

Tickets are still available online for 50 and 6 US dollars.

For non-drinkers or designated drivers, tickets cost $ 20.
