Florida against Alabama Sec tournament semi -finals preview

Florida switched to the SEC tournament after the distance from Missouri and although they had to wait for the game to find out who they were confronted, it didn't take long to realize that it would be Alabama Crimson. Alabama entered the game as a higher seed so that they defeated Kentucky to play the Gator, and when the best defender of the wildcats was excluded before the game, it looked even more clearly that the crimson tide had the advantage and that was exactly what happened. Although Kentucky played admirably to keep the game within reach for the first half in the first half, the offensive fire was too much in the second half, which led to a blowout with 99: 70.

Since Kentucky Butler misses, among other things, there may be no quantity on the Alabama website to play this game, but the game of the new Lebaron Philon was particularly impressive when he progressed with 21 points. Playing in a large arena for the first time can often mean a patrol-striping shooting, but just as it was no problem for the Gators that the Crimson Tide did not achieve any problems with 38% of its three 11-29. One advantage of the one -sided score was that Alabama was able to load some of her most important players a easier minute and Grant Nelson and Cliff Omoruyi could only play for 16 and 14 minutes (both should play with injuries), while Star Guards Mark Sears and Lebearon Philon and 30 minutes played.

Florida and Alabama's regular game of the season was pretty new on March 5, so that both teams will have their opponents fresh in their heads. After the last summer, the score 99-94 said for Florida, but this number of points does not really tell the whole story of the game. With less than 6 minutes, the gators had expired at 2 p.m., and in the last moments when the game was almost decided, meant that the score was brought closer, but the game of the whole was Florida, which had an advantage in the flood.

When he went out of this game, the greatest story was the play of Alex Condon, which probably had the best game of his career with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks and ended several highlight lobs by Walter Clayton. Condon has been playing his best basketball lately, and Alabama was the perfect Matchup for him to demonstrate everything that makes him such an excellent player. Alabama's front square is large and lanky, but they don't have much filling, and that meant a clear size advantage for Condon and he used it to work out and end the edge. He was mostly matched with Grant Nelson, who, due to his injury, did not move too well and was more than ready to take advantage of Condon with every touch. This matchup will be available to the Gator again and you can search for trying to take advantage of it as far as possible.

Walter Clayton was also anti -stone with 22 points and 8 templates, and many of these dimes went on the edge for undisputed darks. Alabama decided to play against Claytons Pick -Ad -Rolls with a drop coverage scheme, and Clayton chose to play in the middle with his ability. After meeting a few pull -up jumper, he began to spray the ball on his teammates, and it seemed as if everything he wanted to do was achieved success. Given the fact of how good Clayton's change of shooting against Missouri was, it will probably be a good recipe to attack Alabama's drop reporting again.

Florida's greatest concern must be to defend Mark Sears and Lebaron Philon's guards and to keep them out of color in particular. Sears, a player who lit the Gator every time he saw them in Alabama during his time, was again with 30 points and 5 templates. He did this, even though he only went 2-10 from a three-point range, which means that he got most of his points directly on the edge, and the Gator cannot allow that. Sears has an excellent first step to drive out of defenders, but what really makes him special is what happens when he gets into the color. He loves to come to a stop and use different pivot moves, almost like an elite post player -except 6'1. The post of Sears is also in the Alabama game book, and the Gators have to do what you can do to keep the ball out of your hands and keep it away from the color.

Philon is much more a bursty guard that uses straight-line speed and sportiness and is a completely different challenge than Sears. Philon ended with 19 points and 4 templates with efficient 8-13 shootings against the Gators, so that he showed them how dangerous he can be. How the Gators choose to protect both players will be interesting, and it starts how to deal with the matchups. Alijah Martin is a player that Florida's employees generally like to guard the most dangerous perimeter player of the opposing team, which Mark Sears could mean, even though they may also move him to Philon for a few minutes.

Another reason why the Gators could win the regular game of the season was the back battle. As already mentioned, Alabama does not have a lot of muscles to the extent, which means that they can struggle with defensive relaxation, and for a team in Florida who loves nothing other than offensive rebound, it was every time a shot rose in the water. Florida got 16 offensive rebound, which was a large part of her goal success, and that could be an advantage on Saturday.

Florida and Alabama will compete on Saturday, March 15th at 3:30 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast on ESPN.
