Seven road and rainwater projects have been completed and a larger improvement in the water system with 2.5 million US dollars in grants for a large part of the work.

“The report has a lot of data and information,” said Mayor Dennis Hanwell. “I am grateful and grateful for the city's employees who work hard every day to make everyone in the report, as well as the financing of our various departments by the city council of Medina to offer all exemplary services in our community.”

Hanwell said he was proud of the increased and improved equipment and staff in the city's security forces last year.

“In February 2025 we started filling our fire brigade around the clock, which is quite a performance in part -time employees,” he said.

Hanwell said that some of the city's ongoing projects have been spoken in the past one or two decades, including the Meijer project, which is about to complete this summer shortly before the end of the former KMART location and the ACME Fresh Market project.

“The renovation of the 1969 court building on the public square for urban court purposes continues. This will be more than twice as twice as high as in the future, ”he said. “I am grateful that the representatives of Medina County and the city were able to work together to get acceptable rental representatives in order to have a municipal court that corresponds to the standards of Ohio for the security of the personnel, the voter and the cases submitted in court.”

Hanwell said that he was also grateful for the investment and structure of the Legacy Hotel and the congress center in the 200 Block of the South Court Street.

“With the many events of the city, weddings and a regional draw for tourism, a hotel will enable visitors to maintain more than just the event and to merge outside of dollars to further support our local companies and the vitality in the city center,” he said.

This year, Hanwells will be a mayor last year and he said when he was backed up, he is proud of the cooperation between the urban departments, the surrounding district and municipal authorities, churches, non-profit organizations and a city council who worked with the administration to do Medina as much as possible.

“This is the secret of what Medina makes so special,” he said.
