John McGinn believes that the best of Marco Asensio will be scored in his last five games for Aston Villa despite the Paris Saint-Germain Delense.

Only Ousmane Dembele (eight) has scored more goals in the Big Five Ligen in Europe in all competitions since his debut under Unai Emery last month.

In each of his last three home games, he pushed braces, including against Club Brugge last Wednesday, when he came from the bank to achieve both sides of Ian Maatsens first for the club.

“He can't miss it in the minute, it's brilliant,” said McGinn.

“He is not even in full fitness, which is exciting for us. He comes up, he adds a little serenity and quality. I think he was exactly what was needed in the second half tonight.

“I'm happy about him. He looks like he has a spring in his crotch. He really enjoys it. He enjoys Birmingham.

“He is a great teammate. Hopefully he can keep going the goals and luckily he can play against PSG for us, which is great.

The villa will go to Paris on Wednesday, April 9th to put the Assensio Parent Club before organizing the French champion in B6 the following Tuesday.

“It's completely bizarre, but we used to have it with Samuel (Iling-Junior) in the season and Sam was fully concentrated with Bologna,” said McGinn about Asensio, who faces PSG.

“Marco is pleased that he can obviously play because it is the last eight of the Champions League and it is in a place where he was much more than the rest of us.

β€œI'm sure he will play a bit untouched [playing PSG]. I think when Coutinho played back against Barcelona with Bayern Munich, he showed that he could do that.

“I am sure it will be strange for him. But I don't have friends at PSG, so I'm fine.”

McGinn added: “He is not the most talkative of boys. He is quite quiet and reserved. Absolutely no ego. I think it will be a strange thing for him, but maybe he has to prove them a little.

“He probably has the feeling that he deserves more playing time. He probably has the feeling that he can still contribute to PSG, but he is here. We love to have him here. His quality is simply clearly visible.

“I don't know how much percentage fitness he was. You could see that his legs were strapped up a bit.

“But as long as he uses the performances, he will be on the field, whether he is 20, 30, 40 percent fit.

“There is much more for Marco and I am sure that he will give us some tips on how to get past PSG.”
