First alarm weather day on Saturday due to strong winds

Lansing, Michigan (Wilx) – We explained on Saturday a first watchful weather day for strong, gusty winds and the threat to some storms in the morning. Our airy conditions today with the sun brought most of us at least until the mid -1970s. We stay mild with the low almost 60 degrees tonight.

First alarm weather day: The first alarm weather day is for two reasons. One, a cold front will shower and bring storms late to early Saturday. These storms will probably run through between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. These storms will weaken if you come too late in the Chicago area tonight. At this point, the chance of storm seems to be rather low, but the storm forecast center has parts of MID-Michigan in a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for storms southwest of Lansing. Beast Winds would be the greatest concern of these storms. Behind this storms will be a partial clearing for our Saturday.

The second reason for the alarm day is the wind. We expect very strong winds outside of all storms tonight. It will be windy all day with continuing winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour and gusts over 40-50 miles per hour from the south. Top winds seem to be from 12 noon to 5 p.m. There could be some isolated power failures and minor tree damage. The wind should let go on Saturday evening to Sunday. The winds will be relocated from the west and then from the northwest to Sunday.

We also expect an accident with a large temperature on late Sunday. This will be because another cold front comes through the area. This means that we will see heights in the lower 70s on Saturday and will start in the 40s before sunrise on Sunday. We will be in the 30s on Sunday in the afternoon. Isolated storms are possible late Saturday afternoon, and there will also be a few showers on Saturday evening. Don't be surprised to see a few flakes late on Sunday.

St. Patrick's Day on Monday looks pretty good. High temperatures in the upper 40s to the lower 1950s in the middle of Michigan with a mainly sunny sky. It looks as if another warming up in the middle part of the next week is a possibility that follows a lot of cooling with some rain/snow towards the end of the week. Spring begins on Thursday morning.
