JPD publicly asks for tips in the case of murder | News, sports, jobs

Jerad Davis

The Jamestown Police Department calls on the residents of the community to solve a murder in May 2024.

According to a press release from the department, an interested person was identified in connection with the case, and additional witnesses have recently provided information to investigators.

As the Post-Journal reported last week, what was originally examined as an unattended overdose death has been a murder examination. On May 2, 2024, the officials responded to 442 Buffalo St. for a reported overdose. Through joint efforts with the Coroner's Office of the Chautauqua County, the district prosecutor's office of Chautauqua, the office of Erie County Medical Examiner and the Davis family, it was not to be overdose. The investigation showed that Davis suffered fatal injuries from an attack.

“The Coroner's Office of the Chautauqua County found some questionable bruises and injuries from Davis' corporation and requested a criminal investigation of the matter,” says the city's annual crime report in 2024. “The Detective Bureau of the Jamestown police worked together with the district prosecutor's office in this case, as before Information and evidence come to light. “

The Jamestown Police Department, with information on the circumstances for this incident, calls on to report to the circumstances. In particular, the investigators want to speak to someone who observed Jerad Davis from AM or around March 1, 2024 to May 2, 2024 or had contact with them or was in the apartment in the 442 Buffalo Street in Jamestown.

People with information are asked to contact the Detective Bureau from Jamestown under number 716-7536 or the anonymous tip below 716-483 tips (8477).

Davis was 44 years old when he died, according to his obituary. On the weekends he enjoyed campfires and camping with his children as well as fishing with family and friends, cooked and drove in the car and heard older music. He is survived by eight children, a brother, two sisters, his mother, stepfather and his grandmother.

“We are looking for justice for Jerad. He didn't deserve that and we miss him very much. Our life will never be the same without him, ”said the Davis family in a statement on Friday.
