Gabard swears to pursue Intel Leakers aggressively

Tulsi Gabard, director of the national secret services, said the Trump government would “pursue aggressively”, forward information to journalists and accuse those who share such information “politically motivated”.

“The secret service community of our nation has to focus on our national security mission. Politically motivated leaks undermine our national security and the trust of the American people and are not tolerated, ”Gabard wrote on the social platform X.

“Unfortunately, such leaks have become without an investigation or accountability. That ends now. We know and follow the recent leaks aggressively from the intelligence group and will be accountable. “

In their contribution to X, gabbard appointed the leading mainstream media such as the Washington Post, NBC News, Huffpost and the national security publication in the publication of the record at the receiving end of the leaked sensitive information.

Matt Murray, Executive editor of the Washington Post, said when he had reached the comment from The Hill in Gabbard's post, said in a statement that the newspaper “takes its responsibility seriously to search for and report the facts without fear or favor of the American people regardless of the administration.”

“This includes our commitment to report on our government and its politics, and we will continue to be responsible for the authority,” said Murray.

The remaining outlets, which gabbard called in her social media contribution, did not immediately respond to a request for comments.

The comment raises questions about the extent to which the Trump administration exerts its authority to pursue those who expire the media.

On the first Trump administration, Trump's team had extraordinary length to track down leaks, and even got secret access to telephone and e -mail records from journalists from three branches to eradicate their source.

The efforts were unveiled when the bidges administration on the termination of GAG orders that had been granted to the communication companies moved, which enabled the warning of the news agencies. The Ministry of Justice later updated its guidelines in order to limit the ability of the prosecutors to record journalist files, but this guide can be easily canceled.

Others in the Trump administration shared the contempt of the president in a similar way to Leckages. The FBI director Kash Patel has also proposed that the administration would also “pursue” journalists, although he did not state whether this would be related to leaks.

“We will come after the people in the media who have lied through American citizens who have helped Joe Biden Rig Presidential elections,” said Patel in a podcast interview from 2023. “Whether it is criminal or civilian, we will find out.”

Mark Zaid, a national security lawyer, warned that the journalist himself – not only by government delicacies – could be exposed to charges.

“Be warned for my journalist customers and friends. At some point, Trump admin #spionageact charges against media business/journalist will not be 1. Change protection, ”he wrote about X.

Patle's appointment as head of the FBI has among the press freedom and some of the best journalists in the country who said that they fear that the office could be used as a mechanism to intimidate critical press reporting on administration.

However, Gabard has previously expressed sympathy for the National Security Agency Leaker Edward Snowden and asked for pardoning him during her time in the Congress Trump.

Gabard has postponed the gears since then and said that her attitude towards Snowden was concerned that he did not have enough internal channels to act as a whistleblower.

In her X contribution, Gabard gave little insight into the question of why she believed that the leaks were politically motivated.

She quoted the exchange of classified information about Israel and Iran as well as the US Russia relationship. In one case, she did not quote the details of a story and only said that someone shared information with Huffpost.

“Every unauthorized publication of classified information is a violation of the law and is treated as such,” she said.

Gabard came to Trump's administration as a public personality who had trusted himself in the media ecosystem. She regularly appeared on cable cars to stand up for the president on the campaign path, and was a FOX news-actor and filler before he joined the Republican party after serving as a democrat for almost a decade in the congress.
