Florissant canceled the celebration to St. Patrick's Day after damaging storms

Florissant, Mon. (first alarm 4) – The city of Florissant has canceled its celebration for St. Patrick's Day.

The city of Florissant has canceled all celebrations for St. Patrick's Day after the heavy storms that were followed in the area on Friday evening. The events, which included a 5 km run, a parade and a festival, were set for Sunday.

Florissant published an explanation of cancellation, reading:

“The city of Florissant and other surrounding areas in North County experienced a devastating weather event overnight. We have neighbors whose houses were destroyed, parks that were destroyed on the ground, and many others in our community who have no power. The Duchesne Home Association Fairgrounds themselves suffered serious damage, as did the old St. Ferdinand -Schreinach. After we advised ourselves with our committee and the city administration, we decided that we have no other option than cancel this year's celebration.

“We actively take all of our options into account. We would emphatically point out that instead of tomorrow instead of celebrating this weekend this weekend, we would end up this weekend and help your neighbors during this time of need. We will honor all of our obligations and obligations and edit our best to notify all of our runners, parade participants and festival sellers as soon as possible from these sad messages. We'll see you next year and we will be stronger than ever. “

The National Weather Service published several Tornado warnings in the north of St. Louis County on Friday evening, and many districts were still without power on Saturday.
