Man dies after an incident with domestic violence has led to a shootout in Caldwell

The Caldwell police are investigating an incident with domestic violence that leads to a shootout on Thursday evening.

On March 13, shortly after 10 p.m., the police officers from Caldwell responded to a report on shots that were fired at an address on Parkmont Way. The responding officials found that the victim's ex-husband had shot her after an argument.

The officials found the suspect, who was identified as a 48-year-old Jeramie Kuhlman and was sitting on the head near a tree with a self-inflicted firing wound. Witnesses reported that Kuhlman had shot the victim and then turned the weapon on himself.

Canyon County doctor transported Kuhlman to a hospital in Boise, where he later died. A preliminary investigation showed that Kuhlman was on probation at the time of the incident.

The chief of police of Caldwell, Rex Ingram, commented on the situation and said: “Domestic violence has no place in our society, and we have to continue to raise awareness of this epidemic. My heart is difficult for the victims and the children who are connected to this cowardly. Nobody was injured with the grace of God and we will never tolerate Blatant's actions in our community.”

The authorities ask everyone who is the victim of a domestic abuse to contact local law enforcement authorities. There are also hotlines and accommodations around the clock for those affected by domestic violence. The Caldwell Police Department offers supporters who specialize in support for domestic violence.
